somewhere
i currently have 6gb in my mac pro .. 6x1gb ..
was thinking of getting 16gb .. 8x2gb but then i will lose
the triple channel .. is it better to go for less and keep the
triple channel .. like going for 12gb .. 6x2gb??

Triple Channel is quite useless, you will benefit more from more RAM if you need that than you would from Triple Channel

well i dont think i really need 16gb .. i mean i just do some editing in fcp .. use parallels and stuff like that .. win 7 runs great with 6gb but for some reason mac osx is running slow

Then maybe 10GB or 12GB is fine, or even 8GB. I would try with 8GB first and then add more if needed

i guess ill go with 12gb .. i could always add 2 more 2gb sticks to hit 16gb if i need more ...

is macsales the place to get from because there are some cheaper places like transintl or whatever it is called

It's great place to buy but NewEgg might be few $ cheaper.
