Need more USB 3.0 ports. Is this the right way to go?

This says 5mbps. Does the iMac have superspeed or superspeed+? I.e. is the iMac capable of 10mbps and this would be a bottleneck?

I'm not sure 10Mbs USB is available on anything just yet. Anyway, the current iMacs are 5Gbs USB 3.

Might as well as get a Belkin Thunderbolt Dock instead.

I would get the $49 Belkin USB 3.0 Hub as I have always had good luck with Belkin in the past and don't really know Kanex. I too looked at that hub at OWC. They say it is very reliable (low return rate) and I believe it does have a cord that folds to it for attaching to the computer, but given that I think it is more suited for a notebook, to be portable. You may not have the length of cable you want once plugged into an iMac to put it where you want on a desk or hidden in a cabinet. And for a hub, I would go for the black Belkin over the white Kanex. My $.02.
