So I have a new MBP with retina used to producing music....problem is I have run our of USB ports and am going to buy a Native Instruments Maschine....I have a Duet 2 connected to one and a harddrive connected to the other so far and that takes up both ports....what should I do? Get a USB hub? Would that slow down performance?

thanks

It won't if you get a USB 3.0 hub

Consider Thunderbolt drives if you don't want to use a hub.

Even though some of my HDDs don't need Thunderbolt, the fact of the matter is I can daisy-chain and I end up with 2 free USB ports for other things.
