I'm looking for a network storage device that will handle some of the following:

1) Backup files, preferably Raid 1 v a single drive with automated backup software

2) I don't want to run the manufacturers software on the computer in order for this to happen. If the drive itself runs software you access over the net, that's fine.

3) Needs to be accessable outside the LAN

4) Would be preferable to access mp3s via without a host computer on running iTunes (although I don't think this is possible... =( )

5) I want an our of box solution, not a buy and build yourself/insert drives

Perhaps the closest I found was the WD My Book World Editoin 1TB, but a) rather large (don't need that much space), b) limited the usage options and c) software driven via host computer. Perhaps they changed their setup with a recent edition. This was about 6 months ago I looked into it.
