Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a good, basic mono laser printer. I don't need colour.

At the moment I have a HP 1022 laser printer, which refuses to print properly no matter what the idiots at HP say in Snow Leopard. Neither will it print in Windows7. I cannot be bothered to mess around trying to get it to work. I just want a good, reliable printer that won't let me down. Something NONE Hewlett Packard.

Thanks.

I've got a older brother HL-1440 that is still chugging along and works great with both SL and Win7. Might be worth taking a look at what they've update that model to.

Brother makes great laser printers that work in both OSes. I've had experience with a lot of them at work and at home. Look for one of the new HL models if you just want basic printing capabilities.

An excellent unit is the Brother 2170W. It's small, wireless, toner is cheap, and prints beautifully. It can be had for as low as $89.
