Gave my son my old 2008 dual quad core Mac Pro with an ATI 5770 graphics card. He hooked it up to an old Vizio monitor/ tv, and the image looks horrible! It looked terrific on my 23" HP. Tried DVI to VGA, DVI to HDMI, both look really bad especially the the text. Is there a decent cheap monitor I can get him with a straight through DVI connection? After just spending over $7000.00 on my new Mac Pro, I would like to keep the price around $150.00. Thanks. Still have not had time to hook up my new Mac. Hope all is well with it.

TV's are terrible monitors FWI. I don't use any cheap display's so no help there. Go to Fry's or something and get a Hansxxx or Asus or something. It'll be TN so it will not be great but most likely better than the TV.
