Need notes app with basic formatting?

So I have some serious medical issues going on and I use my iPad to take notes at the dr. visits. I have been keeping a journal in a Pages document, and then email the text to my iPad and cut and paste into Notes. However I lose my formatting color, etc. when I do this.

So I need something (preferably free or cheap) that does the following:

text entry
email of text from app
basic formatting- (bold type, diff. sizes, diff. color text)
simple to use

thats it, nothing fancy, but more features than notes.

Ideas?
