Need opinions on which is best

Hi there!

I am brand new to the Mac world so I am in need of honest opinions here since I'm completely in the dark. I am in need of a laptop and see two laptops within my budget listed - one looks to be the newer MacBook Air (MJVE2LL/A) and the other looks to be the older MacBook Pro (MD101LL/A). Both are priced the same. I only need a laptop for Internet browsing, storing pictures and movies from my iPhone (I also have an external hard drive for this), saving some Office files, and running Quicken... I'm stuck as to which would be best to get and why. Can someone help me with their input? Thanks!!

Both computers should handle your tasks more than sufficiently, so the question is if you value portability (Air) or having extra ports or optical drive (Pro).

I'm seeing the Air has a newer integrated graphics, higher resolution, and already has a SSD drive (which you can buy for the Pro, just add extra $$) so that would be my vote if I had to pick.
