Hello,
My son has an account on my macbook and recently he got into some trouble at school and I need to change his account password. Only problem is he will not tell me his password so I can make the changes. Even though Im the administrator I am not able to change his password without first typing in his.

Please help me with this,
Zach

It is on my macbook, and I can not delete his account because of his school information and programs he has on there.

One thing I suggest is booting from the Mac OS X Installation dvd and after you have chosen your language you'll see a menu bar at the top. I think under Utilities there is an option to reset a password. Use that on your son's account.

When I followed that link it did not change the login password.

Since I am not always home, and his siblings need to use the same account, I had planned on changing the password and telling his sisters.

will try that now and be back.

I also suggest enabling Parental Controls while your at it or at least don't make the shared children account an Admin account.

Mind me asking what kind of school trouble could cause you to need to change his password?

Like watching porn in class or something?

no, his grades were dropping and was just starting to get an attitude with me and his mother so we pulled the plug on everything, phone, computer, tv. AND TY SO MUCH booting with the disk worked :)
Will be coming back if i have other problems:)

Get him one of these and a 56k modem like I used to use when I was probably his age, that will teach him.
