Need quick advice on either 2013 or 2015 11"

So i used to have a 11 inch 2013 MBA as a secondary laptop. i gave to my cousin for graduating, but i find myself in need of a secondary laptop again.

best buy was having a sale last week on the 11 inch 2015 for 700 (650 with a student discount). so i was able to pick one up for 695.5 after tax. BUT there is a seller on eBay the is selling the 2013 for 500 no tax.

would it be a good idea to return the 2015 MBA and get the 2013. i would be saving $200. is the 2015 MBA worth the extra 200? I don't mind buying a used laptop, as long as the seller has good reviews. I'm just really wondering if the new 11 2015 MBA is that much better than the 2015 one.

It's slightly better but by not that much. It will certainly be faster. I would keep it for battery life alone. I own a mba 13" 2012, man how I wish I had the battery life if the 2015 models

The improvement in battery life came in 2013 actually, due to a more power-efficient processor. I don't think the 2015 model has much better battery life (although the battery will be two years newer, which is worth considering).

The 2013 MBA is a great machine, I have one and see no reason to upgrade to the newer models. However, I would probably just keep the 2015 machine if I were the OP. If nothing else, you get a one year warranty and it comes from a reputable national chain instead of "some guy on eBay".

Yeah i guess thats a good point. i am nervous that apple will release new Airs next month that will make this purchase seem like a bad deal. I mean i wouldn't mind spending 900 if the new 11 inch air is WAY better, or whatever equivalent laptop they decide to release.

Well then it probably wasn't a very good idea to purchase that new MBA last week.

If that's the way you feel, just return it and wait until next month.
