Need recording software for mac

i want to record the screen with software but i dont want to pay for it or get a trial with restriction. any one any suggestions

Also consider Snapz Pro - http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/

...both have a cost but its so minimal and worth it for support.

If you want to simply grab stills, then use the built in hotkeys: Shift + Apple + F4, F3, F2
