Need Schematics tool

I need a schematics tool and i don't have the time to find one. I need a tool to help make a schematic for a physical item, me and a friend are planning to invent something this summer, we know what but it was my idea and he doesn't completely get the schematic from speech. Please help,

Schematics tool as in CAD? I'm not sure if there are any free versions..

Please be a bit more specific. Are you designing circuit boards? Are you just wanting to design schematics of circuits?

You are also posting in the wrong forum. This is for Mac hardware issues.

Oh, I mean like, I'm designing a steel item, like forging, (Furnace+anvil/variations)
Please direct me if i'm in wrong forum

If there is no such thing, I can resort to paintbrush, but i just want an easier to use device, Thanks.
