My current plan is for a bootable backup to be created every 24 hours (via SuperDuper) and then use Time Machine to only backup preferences and documents folders every hour. However, I'm not sure on which folders I should be pointing Time Machine at. So far I think I need these:

Drive>Library
Drive>Users>[User Name]>Documents
Drive>Users>[User Name]>Library

Are they any other which I'll need?

Yeah that will give you your files and preferences. But time machine is based on excluding. So you will have to go through and add everything that you don't want. So just the base folder levels.

You have to tell Time Machine what parts not to backup, you cant tell it to just backup the files you want. Just exclude the large folders that you do not want to backup.

I know. But it's easier to ask which to include in my backup, keeps it simple. You've got no idea how I structure my files in the first place, or even what I want backedup outside my documents folder; both you'd need to know before you tell me what to exclude from my backups.
