Hello out there. Currently, I'm trying to utilize some of my old Microcrash Hd's, and use them for External Hd's. The problem I'm encountering is that OS X, Permanent Eraser etc, will not let me erase the external HD's. Permission Denied...

How do You Change Permissions on the drives? Thanks for the lightning response...
 
Select the drive and press command + i, at the bottom of the window you'll see ownership and permissions, click the arrow next to details. Then you see "Owner: (name)" next to that you'll see a lock, click on the lock and type in your password if it asks for it. Then click on the name and select your account name from the drop-down menu. See if that allows you to format the drive.
