Great, just great. I get my iBook g4 14" home from Applecare and I am told that my problem with the screen setting brightness to 0 was a software problem. They had tried to change the logic board but nothing worked. The new logic board is now in the iBook. I reinstall the system and waits for the battery to drain, so the screen will go dim, but nothing happens. That's kewl. After reinstalling all my software and library, the problem starts again. I then found out that I could undim it by changing the resloution on an external display. I just don't get it why it does this.

Then twice since I got it home, the system just shuts down or blacks out when I wake it from sleep, very weird. Could this also be software related?

This is a list of what I installed since my reformat:

Adobe cs1.
Adobe reader.
Adium.
BBedit.
DIvx Doctor.
DivX pro.
Flip4Mac.
IntellijIDEA.
Dreamweaver.
MS Office.
PHP Function index.
Quicksilver.
Stuffit.
Temperature monitor.
TexShop.
Timbuktu Pro.
Tinkertool.
Tinkertool System.
Transmit.
VLC.
Windows Media Player.
Synergy 1.3.1

And I used Screen Spanning Doctor to get my external 2005FPW to work.

I just don't see how the installed software could be the troublestarter here. Nothing suspicious software is installed except for the Screen Spanning doctor, which I am fairly certain isn't the culprit since the dimming thing happened before I installed it.

I could really need some help, I know the dimming thing and waking thing is happening to others, I just need some new views on this other than my own.

If this keeps happening, I am getting very uncomfortable using the darn thing. I want a computer that is stable.

Edit: Just searched SSD's forums and looky what I found: http://forum.macparts.de/viewtopic.php?t=1016

Darn.
