Hey guys

Just picked up a Wii along with Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers. I am looking for some experienced Wii owners to let me know what game to get and what to avoid.

I am usually an action/shooter player but looking to get into some other types of games. Kind of why I added the Wii to the house, I also have a 360.

Let me know whats out there.

Cheers

The big 3 (Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3) are hard to fault.

I would advise you to get the Metroid Prime Trilogy, as it is being sold at a budget prices, and brings all three up to date with Wii controls.

Also, Wii Sports and (especially) Sports Resort are a blast.

The whole GameCube catalog works nicely, as my older son spent loads of time playing Geist on the Wii over Christmas break.

Raving Rabbids TV and the earlier Rabbids game are both a lot of fun. Big Brain Academy is fun if you have someone you can play against that's competitive.

New Super Mario Bros Wii is a game that has me smiling whenever I play. A lot of fun! I also agree with other people's recommendations. The Metroid Prime games arre outstanding!

That is definitely one I'd like to try ... we have multiple DS copies in our house.

Super Mario Galaxy is a MUST

If you haven't played Resident Evil 4, be sure to pick up the Wii edition (it's definitely the best one)

Also:

Twlight Princess
New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Making this "list" made me realize how little good games there are on the Wii :(

I'll gladly take some recommendations as well.

I know I'm in the minority, but when I look at my Wii catalog I have tons of games that I absolutely love.

(All games listed below are Wii versions, just not bothering to type out full names)

Here are the games that I am insanely happy that I bought:

BWii
Boom Blox
Excite Truck
Zelda
MarioKart
MarioStrikers (mainly for multiplayer)
Medal of Honor: Heroes 2
Metroid
Mario Galaxy
Super Monkey Ball (actually, for the 1st player part, and yes, I know I'm a tiny minority with this one)
Smash
Wii Sports
Zack and Wiki

Games I enjoy:

Guitar Hero 3 (never played one before this, so wasn't burned out or anything)
Super Paper Mario (dialogue and running around main town made it not that great)
Wii Fit (for balance games. Played as drinking games at parties)

Games I bought, but had really good games at the same time and so ended up never playing:

The Conduit
Geometry Wars
Trauma Center

Games I just got, so I don't know how good they are:

Super Mario Bros
Tiger Woods 10

Game I wish I hadn't bought:

Wii Ski (eh, it was $5. But I could have used that to get a burger)

Feel free to ask me about any of them.
