Need some help about firewire!

hi guys i bought this firewire drive to use with my macbook pro

the cables that they sent me doesn't seem to fit my mac, can any one please tell me what i am doing wrong here.

Does your Mac have FireWire 400 or 800? Or none at all?

Can you post a picture of the cable they sent? Maybe they packed the wrong cable.

Mine is Apple macbook pro 15inch 2011
and i think the mac got firewire 800 and the cable i got is from acomdata

That's a regular FW400 cable.

the 2011 MacBook pro 15inch does not have FireWire 400.

Just get a FW 400 to 800 cable and use that instead of the lead provided with the HDD.
