Hey guys.. hoping someone has any advice. I was working on the computer last night. Everything was perfectly normal, shut down and went to bed. This morning I turned it on .. opened my VPN app and it sent me an alert that the date had been changed. The date was showing 2040. I tried restarting the computer and then it got stuck in an endless boot cycle. No matter what I do, it restarts after entering my password. I tried resetting the PRAM, changed the date in terminal to the correct date, but nothing works.

2016 MBP on Sierra. Any advice? Thanks.

See if you can boot to safe mode by holding the shift key at startup. That stops all third party launch and startup items from running. I'm thinking maybe one of those items is launching and causing the crash.

I tried safe mode as well but it doesn't work. Looks like it's going to have to be a restore.
