need some help playing .ts movie

Okay so i have a .TS HD movie i'd like to play. im using VLC to play it but it doesn't do anything. its just a black screen and when i play it nothing happens. when i full screen the screen turns green...
can somebody help me out on how to get this movie playing? is there another application that can play it?
Anything would be nice

wouldnt let me click on the .ts movie and when i clicked on the file it said file is unsupported

VLC, Mplayer OSX, or Perian installed into Quicktime might play the file properly.

mplayer osx worked. idk why vlc wouldn't work.
