Hello, I am not an expert in Finale and would like to learn the program on my mac. I have a macbook pro with mountain lion provided by my work and it has finale 12. This program seems so unintuitive so far.

1. I am trying to make a Ukelele tablature and am entering notes on the strings and trying to change the fret numbers from 0 to 1 or 3 etc. You would think in an intuitive program just type the number of the fret while the note is highlighted but that doesn't work.

2. A simple command like adding a quarter rest at the beginning of a measure seems complicated on this program?

Anyway, sorry for sounding like a newb but I've used programs like noteflight for years and it is just so much easier, but note flight doesn't have nearly all the features of Finale 12 so I really want to learn this program, but the incredible frustration from just the first few simple tasks is daunting. ANyway, THANK YOU for any help you can provide.

ok, I figured out to change fret use the + and -, which is incredibly tedious. would be nice to just type the number. Still can't seem to enter a rest and am also having trouble entering different rhythmic values. Sorry if I sound like a complainer this has just been very frustrating.
