Need Suggestion - Holding off for iPhone5

Looking for a suggestion... I'm currently on the 3G, had every intention of jumping to the 4, but "time" slipped away. I figure at this point i should just hold off and get the 5 when it appears this summer.

Anyway, my 3G is starting to choke, much like an older computer. Its getting slightly annoying.

Anyone got a thought as to what I should do to gap to this summer?

Buy a cheap smart phone of craigslist or local that will get you buy. This way your not renewing your contract.

Buddy, i still have a 3G, and i skipped the 3GS and the iPhone 4.
The iPhone 5 looks very promising with lots of nice rumors, i think it'd be best to wait it out for 3 more months.

Try jailbreaking your iPhone 3G and download FakeClockUp. That's what i did, and it's finally usable now.

Holding steady

Yeah, I'm absolutely holding out for the 5, I was just thinking about something to help me get there with less pain. No new contracts....

Here's hoping July gets here sooner.

cheers!

Have you considered buying a refurbished iPhone 4 from AT&T? I think the prices plus the $200 early upgrade fee (assuming that you still want to upgrade to the iPhone 5 once it is released) are very reasonable. And when you upgrade you can sell the iPhone 4, most likely for more than what it ended up costing you.

Maybe a clean restore of your 3G can help speed and make you wait a few more months... I would wait.

If you don't mind being seperated from iOS for a few weeks/months, you can try the PAYG route. The depending on how dumb you want to go, an ATT GoPhone prepaid handset will cost you between $20-130. Most of the phones are key based. There was a touch handset by LG for $130. But most reviews said that the touchscreen 6000SUX big time. But they are everywhere. Kmart, Target, Walmart, CVS, RiteAid, etc. Take the SIM out of your 3G and pop in the GoPhone. When my 3G got damaged, I took the SIM out and shoved it in a Nokia C3-00. It was hard to deal with buttons again but I survived. Although, I still have nightmares about touching keys. A keyboard, how quaint.

You waited this long.
I know the itch gets worse to closer it gets.

If it makes any better, im in the same boat as you, but with a beat up 3Gs.
