Ok, even though the 2010 mac pro hasn't come out yet... I did look into the firmware restoration cds and it gives me an idea. Lets assume the 2010 mac pro was out and the 1.9 restoration cd also was on apple's website.. Is there a feasible way known to man to flash the efi from that to the 2009? I am interested to know what others are thinking regarding this, as it does pose a plan for possibly flashing the firmware and overwriting the existing on the 2009. If this works, then we will at last have 2009's able to support B1 Stepping processors such as westmere and gulftown - effectively eliminating the need for a 2010 mac pro.

So, who is with me in figuring this out, and if in fact it can be done? According to Nano, he told me that theoretically it can be done, but would require some way to trick the 2009 machine to "ACCEPT" the firmware. And given that all circuitry is the same for the logic board and he also thinks that the 2010's will also be the same.. I really think this can work.
