I am trying to find software for my Mac that will allow me to shoot time lapse movies with my camera, attached via USB. My mac is an iBook 1.42 Ghz running 10.5.7. My camera is a Lumix DMC FX01.

I have tried iStopMotion, Gawker, iMovie 05 and a few others. All except one were not capable of communicating my camera. However, I did get iMovie 05 to recognize my camera, but this version of iMovie does not have a time lapse feature. I found out that iMovie 06 and later do have the time lapse. Now my problem is getting iMovie.

I borrowed a copy of iLife 09 from a friend a few months ago and installed all the applications. But because iMovie 09 requires Intel, I cannot run it. So I am left with the option of downloading iMovie 06. I have tried the version directly from Apple, but it requires iLife 08, so that didn't work. I have tried downloading iLife 06 via a torrent, but no one is there to seed it. It seems as if iMovie is just not meant for me.

Any suggestions regarding another way to get iMovie 06 or any other time lapse applications would help me out a lot. Thanks.

Probably EvoCam (www.evological.com/evocam.html). It can at least record time-lapse movies from the built-in iSight. Cannot check at the moment whether it works with a camera as well...

Hope that helps.

Thanks you so much. Didn't work with the camera I described, but I remembered I had a camcorder and it worked perfectly. Looking forward to using it soon. Thanks again!
