Hi all,

my blackberry died 12 days before the keynote, so I popped into an apple store and bought a 3G knowing full well I'd likely be returning it based on the new announcements. I have 30 days to do so.

What I need help with is what should my plan of attack be to make sure I successfully do this exchange in case the first wave of phones runs out and I can't get one until after the 30 day return window?

My gut is the exchange will be easier to do at the apple store, but I'm interested to hear your advice.

Cheers,

Jason

I would return to the Apple Store for this. I would also speak to a manger who will be there on the day of the launch and tell them the situation.

You Can Get the New Phone...I just did!

I read online you can go into the store you purchased from and preorder the new one. Tried it and it's definitely how they're doing it.

Here's what I did:

Go in with your phone and receipt
Tell them you want to preorder the 3gs...by the way black and white are the same price now.
They put in the order and place a hold on your charge card
You get to keep your phone until you come pick up the new one
They give you a receipt which you bring back in on release day and you get priority over those in line.
Also your card isn't charged until your phone ships
It's really easy...just keep your old phone safe until next week!

At worst you can get $100 credit because they lowered the 3g price...

Hope this helps
