Need to buy a laptop mouse

I need a mouse for occasional use for my MacBook and I want to know what would be the best to buy.

I can't afford something too expensive but I do need something that is comfortable in my hand and works OK. I don't want anything too small as I am used to desktop mice. I would like if I could use the mouse on glass surfaces but it is not necessary.

I found the Corded Mighty Mouse for $27.00 and I am wondering if that would work on glass. I would only use a ball mouse if the ball provides tracking comparable to that of a good laser mouse or the Macbook's trackpad.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I know infrared mice won't work on glass, but I don't know about laser. If nobody else answers before I get home, I'll try my wireless MM on my window

Laser mice work on every surface even glass!

I think they only did not work on very rough mirrory surfaces
