well i checked plextor,pioneer and liteon , in their websites it only says that they run under XP-ME-2000 .

Does anyone know a good external writter (that supports dual layers discs) and works 100% with tiger??

i really need a good one coz am going to use it a lot to backup dvds i own ,i can pay up to 300$ :rolleyes:

I just installed an LG 4163B in an external case. I've tested it with DVD-RAM and iTunes also recognizes it. I used Patchburn4.

I imagine the newer 4167B which adds DVD-R DL and increases the speed of DVD+R DL to 6x also works. This drive is the only one able to write all the existing formats. It also has LightScribe. That's what I plan to get when I give the other to my mom soon.

They are inexpensive. Just add an enclosure.

EDIT: disclabel 2.4 supports LightScribe, but I haven't tried it.
