When is the new macbookpro arrivin... :(
need to buy a new computer due to mine being all glitchy n stuff.

I use it to DJ- and things alike. And i really need to feel safe with the computer not crashing on me when I´m playing.

I need to buy a new computer and don´t really feel like waiting till june-august... :(

What do you guys think?

Wanna buy a mbp with 16g ram n uppgrded drives etc.
So cannot really go with the retina either.

If you don't want to wait and don't want the Retina, then buy the regular one then...

I could be wrong but if you aren't going to get the Retina then there's no reason to wait. They probably won't be upgrading the cMBP with Haswell, so why wait? But I got to tell you, the sound coming out of the Retina is awesome, not that you'll need that for work, because your hooked up to the house sound systems, but still

WHAT?!?

I doubt that. I can bet you that Apple will upgrade cMBP when Haswell is out. Why? Cause Intel won't be making Ivy Bridge anymore! It's been like this for several generation.

I hear you. And you may be right. But I was thinking of the possibility of them discontinuing the cMBP altogether. It's likely that this model will get one more year of life, but if you are thinking of buying the next iteration, you should be concerned about the latest mini upgrades of the retinas with nothing at all for the cMBP. Could be a sign. We've all heard the rumors of the discontinuation of the classic models combined with a price drop for the retinas. But it's all just conjecture. Nobody really knows...yet.

My guess is that Apple doesn't know either, and it depends on how well the cMBP sells. Whenever I walk into the Apple store, they always try to push me to buy a cMBP because it "talks to the memory faster" and it's "so much faster than a cMBP, even with an SSD" because it's all "connected". It makes me sick.

Mind sharing the rumors link?

Not sure why a specialist would do that. They're not on commission and have no requirements to push overstocked items. Sounds lk the specialists you spoke to were pushing their own personal opinions rather than listening to you state their needs.

You don't even say which model the old one is, and the glitches could be software related.
For instance, if yours is a 2011 model you won't gain much for playing music, first try to diagnose the problems, they could potentially be resolved.
You could ask here for instance.

Sorry was a bit unclear.
Has Been running a Windows pc for 2.5 years and Its ****ed up.
It lags and stops audio For about hals a second in the middle of A track or lags when i play films on it. One usb port is Wacked and Its really unstable.
Going to run it as My browsing, downloading n **** computer and run the Mac as a workstation For the more demanding creative Works.

Don't feel right to buy a "Old" mbp when the new ones Pretty Much needs to be released about now.

Buy yourself a nice cMBP 13" or 15", why wait, for 15% increase in speed, if you need it now, buy now, the new ones will have better processors and likely a bit more battery life but that's about it.

Wow. I have had very knowledgeable staff help me and that generalization is sickening to me, more than that they seem to say soldered RAM makes the computer faster.

The updated ones will not be significantly better than the current.

However, if you can wait, then wait.

If not, buy a maxed out rMBP or cMBP (with 16GB RAM). You won't be disappointed.
