Hello,

I have an iMac G5 (First-gen 20", Airport installed, Tiger, AppleCare, etc) that I love. The diemma I find myself in is that I need to move to a laptop. I'm going abroad, and I need a laptop for school anyhow.

Is there an alternative to eBay? I dropped a ton of money on the iMac, and don't relish taking a big loss to switch to an ibook or powerbook. Also, I'm not sure how trustworthy getting a mac off eBay is.

Is there a swap or trade-in policy, or are there any reputable Apple partners that might run such a program?

Any recommendations on what kind of laptop would also be appreciated :) I'll miss the 20" screen, going to 17" or 14" is going to be rough. As far as usage, I use it for writing & programming.

Thanks!
