So my buddys OS went down on his macbook. I have my macbook pro with a .dmg file of snow leopard on it. We have an external disk drive.

What is the best way to install SL on his machine ?

(We are deep in the jungles of mexico, no apple stores...)

Thanks in advance for any help

Should be able to use the .dmg file by mounting then.

Code:
cd /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ DVD/System/Installation/Packages (Hit Enter Key)

open OSInstall.mpkg

In Terminal to open the installer to install onto the external once you have done that boot the external on the other mac and open diskutil to do a restore from external to internal drives on the broken machine and boot it up once done.
