I had the original shuffle when it first came out. That was my iPod experience (if that counts) but I found a really decent deal on a used 16GB itouch 2nd gen. Anything i need to know about to make sure its top notch? What should I inspect? The seller says it has a couple hundred songs on there already...should I request a wipe? If not, can I format it again myself on my mac pro? Sorry for being so green with the iTouch.

As soon as you plug it into your iTunes, it will be wiped because the data does not reside in your library on your computer. Does the seller want to use the large number of installed songs as a selling point? They won't remain intact.

They will be wiped as you plug it into your computer.
Unless the Touch is very cheap considering the songs are not included, this is not a good offer:p
Tell the seller this, though they may know already
