Hi,

I am running Leopard (10.5.1) and I need a program to extract a .rar file? Any suggestions?

A quick response would be very much appreciated.

Steve

Unrarx doesn't work with Leopard, according to the support forums, and the other program seems to replace some bit of OS X underlyiing technology, which makes me a bit nervous...

UnrarX is working on my Leopard install and The Unarchiver does no such thing it is just a zipped application there is no installer so it cant replace underlying system files. It doesn't even need an admin password to install.

I'm a big fan of The Unarchiver. It just does what it's supposed to do, and that's all. It will also extract StuffIt archives. :D

I use a combination of Stuffit and The Unarchiver...between them, I've had no unarchiving problems...

The Unarchiver...the best utility you never think of, because it's just there and it does its job without being an obtrusive, annoying, crashing mess like certain other decompression apps. I nearly think of it as part of the OS.
