I have a 2010 cMP running 10.14.6
2x 3.33
whooping 96GB RAM
PCI SSD for OS 10.14.6
nVidia GTX 680

The computer is no longer speedy, uptime now is 46 days.
I now mainly use it as a web surfing machine with dual monitors.

I'm thinking of nuking it but want to upgrade to Catalina.
I do have a secondary 2010 cMP that has been sitting idle for a long time and I've installed open core on it.

I'm not sure if things changed and there are different versions of open core.

One more thing.
My main rig has the upgraded Wi-Fi and also has the functioning (works 85% of the time) unlock/login with the Apple Watch.
Will I loose that functionality?

I just want to make the computer speedy again. I do recall back in the days of 10.6 0 10.8 I would have uptime of 200+ days without reboot.

Thank you in advance for your guidance.

--------
I do think of pulling the existing drives out.
I do have a spare 120GB SATA SSD that could work for the older OS to run to provide compatibility
and I suppose I would buy another 512 m.2 SSD for the fresh OS.

Thanks,
