Need to reset 3G service everytime it reverts to EDGE?

So when I turn 3G on the phone it goes onto the 3G network and when I get out of 3G network coverage it reverts to EDGE...which is fine...but when I get back into 3G coverage area it doesnt automatically go back to 3G network. I have to manually turn 3G off and then on again for it to search for the 3G signal.

Is everyone having this problem? Or maybe even though it still says EDGE on the UI it really is on the 3G network?

That seems like a problem. I have no issues with 3G and Edge switching back and forth.

Yeah, you should be automagically switching back to 3G...one of those rare time I might check with AT&T before Apple.

I've been having that same problem just lately.
I always have to restart/hard reset the phone to get back to 3G.

I tried disabling and re-enabling the 3G option, but still no go.

Please report back on what you find out!
