Hi,

after a smooth setting up of my new DP G5, I can not seem to manage to make a TCP/IP connection to my old 266 Mhz Minitower, from which I need to transfer files to my G5.

Strangely enough I had not the slightest problem connecting to my Windows network...that all worked very fine..

What is the fastest way to do this?

did you setup your appletalk in MacOSX and filesharing in OS9? look under sharing in OSX...

get the IP adress from your G5 in the chooser on OS9: connect to server: write the right adress here, connect log in and transfer... it should work...

or go to ethernet on OS9 get the IP from that one, open filesharing and make it available and connect from the G5...

I never had problems with that...

Thanks Jo-Kun,

turning File Sharing and AppleTalk over TCP/IP on both computers solved the problem...
