Hi all,

I have already jailbroken my iphone 3GS, which is on 4.1 (8B117) version and Firmware is 05.14.02
But i would like to unlock my phone, plan to use a different carrier other than att.

What are the options for unlocking for me?

You have to upgrade to the iPad baseband. Unfortunately, this has some serious side effects.

You should probably just wait a week or two and see if a better unlock comes out.

I am sure there is an unlock for 4.1 version, there was some unstable jb/unlock version for the newer firmware i.e. 4.2, but the older version 4.1 has been out.

The firmware version 4.1,4.2.1 has no bearing on the unlockability of the phone, other than upgrading to these versions can update the baseband.

There is an unlock for the 05.14.02 baseband. It's called upgrading to the 6.15.00 iPad baseband.

Other than that, there is no unlock for that baseband version.

Is that safe. I was reading around upgrading the baseband.
I have a windows OS PC, please guide me to the steps/link

I guess i am ok with unlocking the iphone 3Gs, even if it destroy's the gps functions of the phone. Infact i plan to use this for a month or two, before i move to Iphone 4 unlocked without contract.

So kindly please guide me to a unlocking guide.
