I'm so confused as to what kind of hard drive i can upgrade my macbook with. Can anyone recommend me any? I'd like a 500GB one. Can it even go that high? Can it your both 5400 RPM and 7200 RPM or just one kind? Also when i get the new hard drive how in the hell do i transfer all my data on it!?

Have a look at my sig.

640GB with 5400rpm (from Western Digital) is the biggest capacity you can get in a 2.5" HDD that fits into the MacBook (max HDD height 9.5mm), 500GB with 7200rpm is the fastest mechanical HDD you can get (Seagate Momentus and Hitachi Travelstar).
Transfer via external USB enclosure for 2.5" HDDs, then usable as backup or external additional storage.

To find more about this "seldom" discussed issue return to the beginning of my post.
