Need Wisdom Regarding Purchase

ok, so of course this sounds great to me. i have credit card in hand and am ready to buy. i just was wanting some advice from some of our wise mac family members out there.

Looks like it to me. Some will tell you that the NVIDIA 8600 will crap out on you, but I suppose many others will tell you otherwise.

The newer machine does have some nice tweaks to it, but for $650 extra I'm not sure they're worth it.

My spouse has one with the NVIDIA 8600 and no crap-outs here. Remember, you'll see more complaints about something than praises. Heck, the savings IS hard to beat.

I got the same model BRAND NEW for $1199 in Canada but, granted, I lucked out.

I'd say it's a good deal...but only if the link wasn't saying that it's out of stock.

Those rotate in and out pretty frequently. If the OP didn't get one this time, they can probably get one within the next few days.

The new video cards are not without their own problems

But if something does happen within two years of purchase, you're covered.
