Hi! I need your advice. I’m not at all interested in the iPhone 17 lineup, but I want to buy an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Should I wait until the iPhone 17 is released? I heard a rumor that Apple might raise the prices of the iPhone 17 enough that the iPhone 16 will continue to be sold even after the launch, at the same price it’s being sold for now. Partly also so that people who bought the iPhone 16 after the launch wouldn’t feel too bad, since AI features will be introduced with a delay. I appreciate your advice!

Do you need a new iPhone right now? Meaning is your current iPhone not doing what it needs to do. For example, the battery doesn’t last all day because it’s almost dead. If the answer is yes, then buy a new iPhone now.

The rest I’m going to say is just my opinion. I don’t have any inside information at Apple so I could be completely wrong. I don’t think the 16 Pro Max will be on sale at least from Apple once the 17 Pro Max comes out. You might find some new old stock from Amazon or other retailers like Walmart but not from Apple. It would not make any sense for Apple to keep selling last year’s phone especially if the price has gone up. I think one of two things is going to happen. Apple is going to come out with a refreshed Pro Max only or a refreshed Pro Max plus a newer higher end model.

If the Pro Max price changes it will be maybe $100. At some point, Apple has to raise the prices because there’s this thing called in inflation. Will it happen this year or will Apple wait till the 20th anniversary next year? Only Tim Apple knows this.
