please advise me either i should get the basic 2015 13"Macbook Air or Pro. They are almost identical in prices. we usually use them for web browsing, email, etc.
thanks.

Either one would be fine for tasks like web browsing and email. It mainly comes down to the difference the Retina display makes.

I'd say the Pro. Although the Air is cheaper, you get the following benefits with the Pro:

- Better display (Retina)
- More ports
- New Force Touch Trackpad
- More RAM as standard
- Quicker RAM as standard
- Better CPU
- Better GPU

All-in-all, you get more bang for your buck with the Pro, IMHO.

Checked out both of these last night at the local Apple Store, IMHO goto the store and check them out and get a hands on and talk to a knowledgeable sales person. Not sure what the quicker ram is suppose to be maybe a slight difference than what's in the air, but both are nice. I'd never own a 13" rMBP though. Either 15" mbp or the air with 2.2, 8GB and what ever size HD you need. There are so many posts and videos of what you can do with a base model air that they should answer any questions. Everyone wants to future proof , a year later there in the market place selling what they bought a year ago wanting top dollar.

Guess I'm rambling on but hopefully you get something out of it.:)

There's also this to consider… ;)

Some 2015 13" MacBook Pro Users Complain About UI Lag

A limited but growing number of 2015 MacBook Pro users have turned to the MacRumors discussion forums with complaints about user interface lag on OS X Yosemite. The lag results in slow or choppy animations and graphics across multiple areas of OS X, including opening Mission Control or Launchpad, launching full-size applications, resizing windows and scrolling through web pages.
