Need your thoughts on ATV, I'm using a MacBook now

I am using a MacBook 2.1ghz Duo Core 2, 4gb Ram, 500GB HD. When I run iTunes or FrontRow, the internal fan goes crazy and loud. This lead me to think of a ATV in its place. I am using an Apogee DAC via Firewire to Hi-Fi system. The Apogee does have optical in too.

Am I gaining or losing going to ATV?
 
well the atv cant use internet or do anything execpt music pics and video so yeah your losing alot. ill trade you my 160 gb for ur macbook haha jk
