Hi everybody...

so recently I decided I would try to overclock my dual 1.0 MDD G4, to 1.25ghz. After weeks of trying, I had to give up. It just wouldn't run stable. Sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes immediately, sometimes after a couple hours... it would always lock up. So, deciding the experiment was a failure, i decided to undo the changes I had made... thankfully, it was only a simple procedure, removing a couple solder bridges I had added in the appropriate places. Long story short, in the process of trying to undo the changes I had made, I killed my processor module.

SO.... now I need to replace it. I honestly don't have the patience to wait for an appropriate module to come on ebay and then play the bidding game with snipers and nøøbs who bid stuff up way past its worth... and was hoping someone out there could recommend a mac parts dealer, as I seem to be totally unsuccessful in my searches to find one. Ideally, I would like to upgrade to a faster processor, either a dual 1.42 or a 1.25..or, actually... a dual 1.33 from an X-Serve, as they will work as well since my board is one of the 167mhz boards. I thought it would be somewhat easy to find an x-serve processor, since they are server parts and after all, you gotta have availability in case of disaster, right? Well I can't find anything, and like I said, i don't have the time or patience to wait for a realistic deal on ebay. (there is a dual 1.42 gigadesigns upgrade on there right now that's already up to $400 with 2 days left... $400 is my realistic ceiling here)

thanks for any help anyone can suggest.
