Need'n to get a new monitor ??

Hi all - I’m new to this and could use some advice.

I’m getting close to needing to get a new monitor.

Now - I have a CRT ( 17” )
I’m in the graphics biz - and have read that CRT is better for colour work.

However, CRT’s are dinosaurs now and difficult to find.

So - I’ll likely go LCD.

I use a mac mini ( vram 32 mb )

Am I limited in what LCD I can buy based on 32 mb ?

How big can I go ? 19, 20, 22, 24 so on .. ?

What should I look for in resolution? refresh? Contrast Ratio ?

Does anyone recommend a good one / affordable / good for design work ???

1920x1200 is the highest resolution you can drive. You can get a 30" display, but it won't output higher than 1920x1200.

The 24" HP LP2475W. It's not quite as affordable as the Dells but is a better quality (in my opinion) 8-bit h-ips panel for design work. I purchased one about a month ago from MacMall and love it. It has pretty much the same connections as the dell 2408.
