how can i tell? the boxes look lighter than the background, but when i look at appleservedup.com on my computer the boxes are very distinctively gray.

i know my sony vaio prob has a better screen, but is there any way someone have something close to negative black, but not be negative black.

for example what would negative black look like viewing the JAYZ black album cover?

it just seems on my computer the boxes on appleservedup.com

are noticeabley gray and on the iphone its just a little lighter. i mean i can tell its not blending, but it isn't as gray as on my computer.

can this be fixed with update? is there such thing as minor black screens?

can someone take a pic of their 3g, with a perfect screen. thanks

so i compared on appleservedup.com the black test with my friends 1st gen. iphone and the box that is supposed to be lighter is very much lighter than mine in the same area. While mine is lighter in the box area it just seems his is even more lighter. Is this part of the whole blue tint thing?

is this just a 3G thing?

can someone please help me?

Just take it back and get a new one. Alot of the 3g's have screen issues. Out of the 25 iphone3g demos at my local apple store, 22 of them had negative black issues. I doubt a software upgrade will fix this. On appleservedup.com, the first test the box in the middle should be a distinct gray. The jayz album cover should have a light gray aura around it.

the boxes are lighter but not as gray as when I view it on a 1st generation iPhone. That's not really a negative issue cause on mine the boxes are still lighter than background. So maybe 3g is just diff blacks than the first generation. Anyone have a pic of there 3 g

I just asked my brother to look at screen and tell me if the boxes were lighter than the background and he said yea mind u. He knows nothig about iPhones

can someone please post a picture of their 3g while on the negative black screen test page.

also i think i have very very very very minor light leak on the side, but since people complain about pixels and etc i think ill leave it alone and wait till something bad happens with the phone and go and return it closer to my warranty date.

^ i know that, it just seems the boxes aren't as light gray as on my laptop or 1st gen, but ok. guess mine is fine.
