I was wondering if anyone knew if there are negative effects on an iPhone if it is plugged and unplugged into a charger to play music throughout the day.

I have a car charger and play my iPhone through it as I drive throughout the day. So the phone is constantly being plugged in and unplugged.

Will this have a negative effect on the battery?

Not really. Killers of lithium ion batteries are, overcharging (iPhone prevents this), heat, and letting it go completely flat (not 0% but 0 vdc, usually is unrecoverable after that).

Just charge as you see fit. Typically it's best to charge before it's below 50% to extend battery longevity with the occasional run till the phone dies.

After all that I have friends do everything battery experts say to avoid daily and they don't have any issues.
