For years, I've tried to determine why the news re: Apple has such a positive slant on this site. Is Arn and co. afraid people will leave? If anything, I think they'll find that it will generate a lot more traffic, debate, discussions, passion, etc. For instance, the below article appeared for me in an unrelated aggregate news site:

https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-trying-to-reduce-cupertino-tax-bill-2018-8

Apple is appealing to reduce property valuations from $1B to just $200?! You read that right - not $200 million, not $200 thousand - just two hundred dollars. These are real legal appeals/documents being filed by wealthiest company in the entire world.

Is this not news we should care about? News people would have an opinion on? Be interested in?

Some of these other articles that do make FP are truly a joke in comparison to this.

So my question is an honest one - why won't the mods move center when it comes to being evenhanded with the news re: Apple?

The Mods have nothing to do with the news or articles that are covered on this site, they merely help with the moderation of the Forums

And there have been a number of news articles that put Apple in a less than favorable light
Actually, I believe this site is fairly balanced in its coverage of Apple

Honestly, we skipped the story because it was boring, old news, and clickbaited. Apple and numerous other companies have always done this. Heck, plenty of private citizens do it.

The absurdly low valuations aren't what Apple actually believes the properties are worth. They're simply placeholders to encourage the government to engage in negotiations, which in many cases can take years.

Re that story. I don’t care how much money Apple has, why should it pay more than what is legally required.

But by and large Apple is a positive organization who may get things wrong occasionally.
