Looking to replace my very old firewire connected iomega. I have a Neil Polton on order currently but am now having second regrets. I have an iMAC (2010) and the nice thing about the firewire is I can also use my auxiliary LACIE CDR burner. It looks like I will have to unplug the Lacie burner to use that port for the new Neil Polton soon to arrive.

Does anyone have any insight on whether I made a good choice or not? I use my old iomega as a Time Machine Back up and that will be the main purpose for the new Neil Polton drive.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

The Lacie d2's are really amazingly good drives overall, and have FireWire (800 and 400). I'd recommend grabbing one of them instead and using that for your backup.
