Netbios

I just recently uninstalled osx server (per my call to apple instructions)
I noticed under network preferences it shows Netbios name as server. Is there any harm in changing it? Should it match the computer name? Hostname?
I noticed in terminal it still shows as server

You can reboot and this should change the hostname back. Otherwise, your router hasn't reverted your hostname to the IP address. Either way, it has no adverse affect on your system.

You can also use the terminal command to change it: sudo scutil --set HostName new_hostname
