Any hacks available to stream Netflix 4k on a MBP18?
I found some guidelines to get it through Kodi by installing the alelec repository and then a Netflix app through that but I can't find the repository to download.
Any ideas? or any other guides?

Right now it’s really only Windows that can properly do it on the Mac, which is sad, and ironic.

I’m hoping for some update in 10.14 Mojave that will activate this once the 2018 iMacs and MacBooks all launch but so far there is no indication of that. DRM seems to be the main issue, even though the hardware already supports it.

Meanwhile, non-DRM’d 4K HDR HEVC works just fine, on both my 2017 iMac and my 2017 MacBook, with full hardware acceleration and relatively low CPU usage. If Apple were ever to support the DRM, the minimum cut off would be these 2017 Macs (excluding the 2017 MacBook Air, which can’t support the DRM).

There is an app in the store called friendly streaming. Can anyone with a 4k Netflix contract confirm whether it supports 4k streaming?

I have also found this player that advertises it supports 4k:
