What is your typical battery drain while watching a Netflix movie over 3G?

On average I get about 3-4 minutes per one percent of battery life when using Netflix. Not that bad IMO.

I'm so happy I have unlimited data. Watching Netflix at work is pure win. :D

Was that 3g or wifi because I watched 30 minutes the other day over 3g and it was only 100mb

It was over 3G.

I bought an application called DataUsage and it keeps track of how much data you are using from the time you last opened the app. I opened it, then went straight to Pelham. 1 hour and 46 minutes later it said I used just over 800MB since last boot of the app.

Just finished watching Obsessed. Was only 475MB; 1 hour 48 minutes. Pelham was literally an hour after the application came out. I noticed between the two movies that the resolution of Pelham was far greater. I wonder if settings have been changed over the air.

About 300-500mb/hour of data usage. This app is exactly what ATT's already buckling network needed. Now I can't even get two bars because some jerk is streaming the entire Police Academy series.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but how does someone being on netflix change the number of bars another phone has? Wouldn't it just affect the data speed, and not the signal itself. That makes no sense.

If my watching a movie in Netflix is causing you to have a bar, I think I'll start a movie just as I'm falling asleep in your honer. :)

I think Netflix changes video quality depending on their throughput. Akamai must be pushing an amazing amount of data for that to be necessary. Their peak throughput is about 10 (or was that 100) Tb/s
