Goodday All,
I have some strange problem since i updated to yosemite while streaming netflix.
When i have my main monitor on, and my second monitor off i get an error, just saying something is wrong.
If i turn both monitors on, the problem is gone and i can watch netflix no matter on which monitor i put the screen, as soon as i turn my second monitor off again it takes about 10-30seconds till i get the error again.
To make it even stranger when i make my second screen the primary (with the desktop and bars on it) and turn of my main screen(set as secondary) i do not have this problem.
This problem only happens with safari since i upgraded to yosemite, when using chrome or firefox i do not have this problem, so it's solely because of the html5 which netflix uses on the newer safari where it still uses silverlight for firefox.
Setup:
Mac mini Late 2012, i5 2.5ghz, 16gb ddr3, intel HD 4000 graphics 1024mb
Monitor 1(main): LG W2753V, connected with mini-display port to hdmi (cable, monitor and adapter are hdcp compliant)
Monitor 2: AOC 2217Pwc, connected with hdmi port to dvi connector (using apples adapter and also all hdcp)
I can watch netflix on both of the monitors when i connect them as a single one, so i do not think it's dhcp error.
However i think on some reason when i turn the second monitor(the AOC) off the handshake is lost or something.
I have tried different cables, adapters, switching the screens from port (hdmi>display-port and vise versa).
My only thought left is that the secondary screen is "too old" to handle the dhcp handshake right, and cancels it when i turn it off.
Unfortunately this is just a guess and i have no one with a newer screen to lend me so i could test this.
What are your thoughts or possible solutions?
Thanks in advance,
Anton
